EMPOWERING MOTHERS THROUGH EDUCATION
Welcome to Akshar, our adult literacy program dedicated to educating the mothers of our Sopanians. Our mission is to provide foundational literacy skills, enabling them to read, write both in Bengali and English, and perform basic mathematics. Most importantly, we aim to equip them with the knowledge to support and guide their children's education.
Why This Initiative?
In our community, many mothers lack basic literacy skills. This creates barriers in their daily lives and limits their ability to support their children's education. Without the ability to read, write, or do simple mathematics, these mothers face difficulties in tasks such as:

Helping their children with homework

Understanding health and safety information
By initiating Akshar, we aim to break these barriers. Educating mothers empowers them to become more independent and active participants in their families and communities. Literacy opens up new opportunities for personal growth and improved quality of life.
